The anatomy of architecture
In this post I will present architectural technical terminology. Firstly we drew a quick sketch, in my case that was a building, which I did in two point perspective. Then I start researching for architectural terminology, to describe each element of my drawing. Glossary of terms These are some of the architectural terminology, which I need get familiar with to understand learn.There is some terms and words: Facade: it is usually front part of a building, that faces on to a street or open space, and it is a loan word from French. It is usually also most important and most decorated part of a building. Arcade: it is passage or walkway covered over by a succession of arches or vaults supported by columns. Hip roof: it is a type of roof where all sides slope downwards from the ridge to the eaves. Pier: it is an upright support for a superstructure, for example an arch or bridge. Rotunda : it is a large and usually high circular hall or room in a building, sometime surrounde...
